The NBA Finals are set with the Dallas Mavericks taking on the Boston Celtics. This matchup is fueled by storylines both on and off the court.

Will Luka Doncic finally get that NBA Championship? Can the combination of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown avenge their finals loss to the Warriors from a few seasons ago? Who wins the battle between Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics fans?

The one thing we do know however is that PrizePicks is giving you the opportunity to win some money while watching what should be this exciting series.

Kyrie Irving PrizePicks NBA Pick: Less Than 23.5 Points

No doubt that Irving is going to have extra motivation in this series, not only because he wants to win another NBA championship, but he gets a chance to do so against the Boston Celtics. Irving and the Celtics had an up and down relationship during his few seasons in Boston and since his departure from the team, the Boston fans have been all over Irving.

This hasn’t been a one-way rivalry either with Irving pulling such stunts as stomping on the Celtics logo and walking around the arena with sage to cleanse the court. When it comes to actual basketball, we look at his point projection set at 23.5. Irving failed to eclipse this total in either game played against the Celtics this season and Boston is boasting two guards who were on the All-NBA defensive team in Derrick White and Jrue Holiday.

Irving is coming off of a good series against the Timberwolves, but he really struggled against the Thunder who also have some good defensive guards. I’m going to back Irving with less than 23.5 points here in Game 1.

Jaylen Brown PrizePicks NBA Pick: More Than 23.5 Points

Brown was the Eastern Conference Finals MVP during the Celtics four-game sweep over the Pacers. Brown averaged 29.8 points per game during the series and had scored at least 24 points in seven of the last nine playoff games.

Brown also had a lot of success against the Mavericks this season, scoring 25 and 34 points in their two meetings. With Brown’s improved scoring since the All-Star break, I’m expecting him to really take a leap here in these NBA Finals and cement his stature as a top tier player in the league.
