There are five awesome NBA games happening this holiday that you won't want to miss. Even though the NFL is trying to steal the spotlight on this special day, the NBA deserves to celebrate too. The first-ever NBA game was held at Madison Square Garden in 1947, during Harry S. Truman's presidency.

The Champions host a game at TD Garden against the Philadelphia 76ers, and it can only be a Merry Christmas for one of them.

Philadelphia 76ers: Frosty The Snowman

The Philadelphia 76ers have been absolutely terrible with a 10-17 record but have won seven of their last ten games. Their star is a bit like Frosty the Snowman, as he seems to have melted under the heat and pressure of the season.

Joel Embiid was ejected in their most recent game and could be ready for a great performance, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Boston Celtics: Deck The Halls

The Boston Celtics have the most storied franchises in the NBA, and it is only proper that they are hosting a game on Christmas Day. Even more so against their Atlantic Division rival, the 76ers.

The Celtics have the championship pedigree and can deck their halls with another championship this season and should have a Christmas victory to add to it.

76ers vs. Celtics Predictions & Picks Today: Christmas Day 12/25

With so many Celtics players questionable it is difficult to bet on any of them with confidence in gaining a profit.

For that reason, we turn to Philadelphia’s only consistent player.

76ers vs. Celtics Prediction: Tyrese Maxey Over 22.5 Points (-115 on Bet365)

Tyrese Maxey is oftentimes overlooked as a true star of the NBA, but that is exactly what he is. While Joel Embiid is constantly the talking point of controversy and disappointment, Maxey receives little to no attention from the media. The 2024 All-Star does the heavy lifting for the team though.

Maxey scored 32 points helping the Philadelphia 76ers win against the San Antonio Spurs in their most recent game. Yet he is the fourth most talked about person on the court. Today, on Christmas, he has an opportunity to display the star that he is. Maxey should shine brighter than his teammate who may be past his prime.

Maxey’s point line is at 22.5 points and that is outrageous. He has scored more than 23 in five of his last six games, including 40 against the Hornets. The Boston Celtics allow 109.6 points per game, and this game could have minimal defense on both ends of the court. Place two units on this prediction, and cheer on the Philadelphia 76ers’ best player.
