NBA on TNT is set to take place tonight, but I have my focus on another game that’s outside the national spotlight. My Jazz vs. Hawks prediction can be seen below, and I believe the sportsbooks have yet to account for the absence of Atlanta’s Trae Young.

The Hawks don’t deserve to be favored here, even playing at home against an average Jazz squad. I’ll break it all down below.

 

Jazz vs. Hawks Prediction for Today, 2/27

With State Farm Arena set to host the Utah vs. Atlanta contest tonight, this shapes up to be a great matchup. To start, both teams have had a day’s rest and the line is slim at just -1.5 towards the Hawks. With Young missing the foreseeable future with hand surgery, there’s a thought that Atlanta might play better without him. 

This is just preposterous though, as Young was their lone All-Star this season and the definitive closer for them as well. Sitting in the 10th seed in the East, the Hawks are currently in the play-in but can’t afford to lose ground. The Jazz are in a similar boat, coming in as the West’s 11th seed. Playing at home might not play a huge factor here, as Atlanta actually owns a losing record on their home floor. 

Between Lauri Markkanen, Colin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson, Utah is equipped with better playmakers. They’re also completely healthy and have a chance to gain some ground in the playoff race. For these reasons, my Jazz vs. Hawks prediction is siding with Utah’s money line.
