The best of the west collide in a rematch of the Western Conference Finals on TNT tonight.

There are different predictions about this game, but it will be difficult for the Mavericks who are playing in the second of back-to-back games.

Minnesota Timberwolves: Like A Rolling Stone

The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off of two days' rest and have the bonus of playing on their home court, The Target Center. The Timberwolves are favorites to win this match as the spread is now -5.5 points. The money line is near -200 on most sportsbooks, a rise from the -166 of last night.

Minnesota is led by a confident Anthony Edwards, and Juluis Randle has already displayed his value in their game against the Sacramento Kings. Rudy Gobert is playing excellent defense and grabbing several rebounds as those three will be the foundation of their success. They will present problems to the Mavericks tonight, and other teams going forward.

Dallas Mavericks: If The House Is A Rockin’

The Mavericks are looking the part as defending Western Conference Champions. Klay Thompson is off to a better start than most anticipated with the Mavericks. He is averaging just under 20 points per game, has made 4 or more threes in every game this season, and has 14 rebounds. He could see those numbers dip against a great perimeter defense.

Back-to-back games are difficult, but the Mavericks have a deep bench. Derek Lively II has the fourth best field goal percentage in the league, and Spencer Dinwiddie is tied for the third best three point percentage. The Mavericks are setting up for another NBA Finals appearance, and this game could be a tie breaker for who gets the #1 seed of the playoffs.

Mavericks vs. Timberwolves Predictions & Picks Today: Tuesday, October 29th

Rudy Gobert Over 12.5 Rebounds (-110 on DraftKings)

Rudy Gobert is a true tower at 7’ 1”. He is a guarantee for the Hall of Fame, he just signed an extension with the Timberwolves, and he is playing some of the best basketball of his long career. He is easy to make fun of because he is not shifty, and has difficulty against players with wiggle in the post. He can be outmaneuvered on the perimeter, but what 7’ player has the moves of a guard?

He has plenty of rest and although Luka Doncic, Daniel Gafford, Dereck Lively, and Juluis Randle are all great rebounders, they are not the rebounders Gobert is. He has averaged over 11 rebounds per game in his career, and averaging 12.3 through three games this season. He should have 13 or more boards tonight, so trust him with a unit.

Trust the big man to grab rebounds as the Timberwolves attempt to control this game by controlling the glass.
