The New Orleans Pelicans travel to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder. They are two teams on the opposite end of the Western Conference, and this could be over before the second half. The Thunder are 9-2 and tied for first, while the Pelicans are 3-8 and on a five game losing streak.

The Thunder should breeze past the Pelicans and are 14.5 point favorites. Although the Celtics had a 14.5 spread and lost to the Atlanta Hawks last night, and you never know with competition. The Pelicans are missing almost every opening day starter, and their season is pretty much over before it even truly began.

New Orleans Pelicans: Wobble Wobble

The Pelicans are headed straight for the worst record of the NBA and could be there for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. Fantasy Alarm never expected Zion Williamson to play a full season, but with Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum, and Jose Alvarado all injured, the back court is extremely thin.

Brandon Ingram has shifted to the position of a guard, and the Pelicans are trying to have relevant bench players. The months of November and December are going to be tough for the Pelicans and their fans. Tonight will not be any less painful.

Oklahoma City Thunder: Callin’ Baton Rouge

The Thunder are cruising as the best team in the Western Conference. The loss of Chet Holmgren will be difficult to overcome, but as for now they haven’t missed a beat. The Thunder are playing at home and have an elite player in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to step up his game without Holmgren.

The Thunder are playing excellent defense and that should continue against the patchwork team tonight. 14 points is a ridiculous spread, but they could achieve it today. The question becomes who else has a great offensive night?

Pelicans vs. Thunder Predictions & Picks Today: Wednesday, 11/13

Brandon Ingram Under 23.5 Points (-120 on DraftKings)

Brandon Ingram will undoubtedly be asked to do a lot for the Pelicans tonight but will also be the focal point of the Thunder’s defense. He has scored 24 or more points in five games this season, or just under 50% of the games. This should be a tough offensive game for the Pelicans too.

The Thunder have the best defense in the Western Conference and scoring on them is not easy, not even when the second team is in. The sportsbooks have juiced his under as their prediction is for him to have less than 23.5 points as well.

Put a unit on Ingram to have less than 24 points on the road against a tough defensive team.
