With only 6 games on today’s NBA schedule, there aren’t all that many opportunities to pick some winners from a betting perspective. Still, I’ve done my best to deliver my usual winning ways with these NBA prop bets for today. 

I’m focusing on the Raptors’ Scottie Barnes and Nuggets’ Michael Porter Jr. One of the plays even comes with plus odds, but I’m still confident that both will come through for us all tonight! Below are my top NBA prop bets today.

 

Scottie Barnes Player Prop Picks: To Record a Double-Double (+105 at FanDuel) 

It’s required to be at least a second team All-NBA player in order to receive a max contract. Barnes is well on his way there, and Toronto appears to want to build around him. If he is selected to the all-NBA team, he would be in for a massive pay raise. 

Needless to say, Barnes is playing with maximum effort, and the Raptors being only 4 games out of the play-in is an added reason why. He’s now recorded a double-double in all 4 games since the All-Star break and in 6 of his last 7 dating back prior. 

Toronto’s starting center, Jakob Poeltl, is listed as questionable, and if he can't go, this pick has an even higher chance at succeeding. Besides rebounds, Barnes has also posted 10+ assists in 3 games this month, so he can get a double-double in multiple ways. 

He’s a true point forward who excels in all 3 major statistical categories: points, assists and rebounds. A small play on him to record a triple-double is worth it, but the main pick here is for him to record a double-double.

 

Michael Porter Jr. Player Prop Picks: Over 2.5 Threes Made (-110 at FanDuel)

The spread for tonight’s Kings vs. Nuggets matchup is set at Denver -8.5. If the Nuggets plan on covering a spread as wide as this, they’ll likely need Porter Jr. to score more points than he has been. 

Although he had just 9 points his last time out, championship players bounce back from bad scoring performances, and Porter Jr. is a champion AND great scorer. One thing is for sure: he’ll certainly put up the attempts. 

He’s shot 61 three pointers in 9 games this month, averaging nearly 7 per game. Now, with three full days of rest and playing back at home, look for him to get plenty of open looks with the defense focused on Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic.
