NHL Parlay for Today’s Games: Parlay Picks for Tuesday, 2/27
We’re heading into the end of February now as we enter a new week in the NHL. The games are getting more and more intense, as playoff sports are essentially being won and lost each and every day.
With a total of 12 games on today’s docket, there are plenty of bets to combine in order to make an NHL parlay today. I’ve done exactly that in this piece, with picks for three separate matchups!
NHL Parlay for Today, 2/27
I decided to roll with the Buffalo vs. Florida, Washington vs. Detroit and Pittsburgh vs. Vancouver games to construct my NHL parlay for today.
Sabres vs. Panthers Prediction: Under 6.5 Goals (-130 at DraftKings)
This bet just makes way too much sense to me. Both squads have great weapons offensively yet continue to have contests finish under the game total.
The Panthers have gone under in 17 of 28 home games in this campaign mainly because of their defense, allowing just 2.8 goals per game in the last 45 days. Sergei Bobrovsky is a stellar goaltender and is currently 4th in the NHL in goals saved above expected amongst goaltenders that have made at least 30 starts this season.
For Buffalo, they also have played exceptional defense, surrendering just 2.3 goals per game over the last 45 days on the road. Goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is in the midst of his best NHL season with a GAA of 2.45 and 4 shutouts.
While I expect Florida to control this game, I don’t see it being a high-scoring affair.
Capitals vs. Red Wings Prediction: Detroit 60-Min Money Line (-115 at DraftKings)
These teams enter this contest playing some great hockey. But with the Red Wings at home in this one, they should have the edge here.
Patrick Kane is starting to look just like his old self as Detroit has now won 5 straight and 7 of their last 10. They’ve scored 20 goals during the win streak and goaltender Alex Lyon has given up just 5 goals on 94 shots in his last 3 starts – all wins.
Washington has played better recently, but they’re on the second leg of a back-to-back and are fairly banged up. The puck line is a bit worrisome though, as Charlie Lindgren is a very good goaltender for Washington and the Caps are close to .500 ATS on the road this season. I’ll take the value of Detroit winning in regulation.
Penguins vs. Canucks Prediction: Vancouver Money Line (-150 at DraftKings)
The Penguins begin their 4-game west coast road trip with a contest against the Canucks in a game where Pittsburgh is without 2 of their top 3 goal scorers. With Vancouver being one of the league’s very best this season, this is a recipe for disaster.
The Pens have amassed just 2.2 goals per game on the road over the last 45 days while the Canucks are only giving up 2.5 goals at home during that span. Goals should be tough to come by for Pittsburgh. Plus, Vancouver is a stellar 20-5-2 at home this season and have shown no signs of slowing down.
Thatcher Demko is also one of the league’s best goaltenders, and he’s 2nd in goals saved above expected at 21.1 on the season. He also adds a 2.47 GAA and 5 shutouts on the season to go along with the deeper statistics.
I think Tristan Jarry can keep things close for Pittsburgh which is why I am looking at the money line but at the end of the day this Penguins team isn't deep enough to handle injuries and they're likely going to fall short tonight.
