We have a four-game slate to close out the week's NHL predictions, where five of the eight teams in action have an implied goal total of 3.0 or higher.

This should set us up for a higher-scoring slate, giving us plenty of props to target in our NHL best bets today.

NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 10/25

We're getting to the point of the season where we have a decent amount of data for teams/players, where we can identify some patterns before making any NHL best bets.

This is also the point of the season where I like to start looking at more goal props, for elite goal-scorers who have gone a few games without a goal. When they continue to shoot at a high volume and haven't scored in a few games, I'm always looking to buy in on their skillset to find the back of the net.

Senators vs. Golden Knights Prediction: Friday, October 25th

The Vegas Golden Knights are one of the highest-scoring teams in the league and with a matchup against a bad defensive team in the Ottawa Senators, we could be in for plenty of scoring, setting us up nicely for NHL best bets today.

As of now, the Senators are in the bottom 13 of the league in both goals allowed (3.01) and Total Shot Attempts Allowed (61.06), both per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. This should set Vegas up for a big offensive night and it brings me to Jack Eichel, who skates on the first forward line and the first power-play unit.

Eichel comes in with no goals over his last three games but maintains a strong offensive role and is tied with 15 shots on goal to lead Vegas. Over the course of his career, Eichel has dominated the Senators with 13 goals and 31 total points in 21 games played.

With solid odds, Eichel has the role and the matchup to find the back of the net.

Penguins vs. Oilers Prediction: Friday, October 25th

What a matchup we have on tap tonight. One of the best centers of all time in Sidney Crosby, and a generational talent in Connor McDavid. This is high-level hockey that brings the best of both to the forefront.

To start, the Penguins are a complete disaster on defense this season, allowing 3.73 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-worst in the league. However, their offense still has plenty of juice with 2.8 Goals scored in the same situations, which is the 10th highest in the league.

They give up a ton of goals, but they can also score plenty to keep things going back and forth.

While the Oilers are off to a bit of a slower start on offenses this season, this is exactly the type of matchup they want to see that can help them kick their offense into high gear. Plenty of star power and scoring are on tap for tonight – exactly what we want when making NHL best bets.
