We have a solid five-game slate to close the week and there are some very clear areas to target from a prop perspective.

There are a number of team doing a lot of things right, but not getting the results in the box score. Those are always interesting spots to target for a bit of positive regression.

NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/1

With a few injuries beginning to pile up for some teams, it presents an opportunity to jump on player props that haven't been adjusted for new roles.

A third-liner could be seeing more offensive time or a star player might need to do even more to keep things moving for their team.

Islanders vs. Sabres Prediction: Friday, November 1st

The New York Islanders have hit a bit of a skid on offense, having been shut out in 4 of their 10 games to start the season. But wait, there's more. The Islanders announced this morning that star forward, Mathew Barzal has left the road trip to be examined by team doctors. This is on top of the team being without Anthony Duclair, who got hurt just five games into the season.

What was supposed to be their best forward line only has Bo Horvat left standing and it puts a ton of offensive pressure on his shoulders. As noted above, there are some teams doing things well but not getting the results and the Islanders would be one of those teams.

They come in with 63.63 Total Shot Attempts Created per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the seventh-highest in the league. That's pretty good! However, they come in with only 1.56 Goals Scored in those same situations, which is the third-lowest in the league. They're taking a ton of shot attempts and not scoring.

So, while they're tough to trust for goal props, we can look to them for shot props. Add in the current injury situation, we can find some spots to attack.

Bo Horvat has 28 shots on goal through 10 games this season while seeing time on the first forward line and the first power-play unit. The Isles need their top-line center to step up and help the offense given the injuries they are dealing with.

Senators vs. Rangers Prediction: Friday, November 1st

With some high-scoring offenses going head-to-head, we could be in for plenty of goals tonight between the Ottawa Senators and the New York Rangers

Both teams sit in the top 10 of the league in goals scored so far this season, along with both in the top 10 for power-play percentage. This is very encouraging for goals tonight, so let's turn to Artemi Panarin of the Rangers.

With 6 goals and 15 total points in 9 games this season, the Breadman is off to another hot start this season. However, he has no goals in his last four games, despite having 15 shots on goal over those four games.

While the Senators are scoring plenty of goals, they are still allowing plenty of goals, up at 2.90 Goals Allowed per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the eighth-most in the league.

Panarin maintains his role on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, which should put him in a great spot to find the back of the net tonight.
