Avalanche vs. Capitals Prediction: Thursday, November 21st

In hockey missing one player usually doesn’t sink a team but when that player has accounted for 15 of 78 goals on the season is missing that’s going to have an impact. Some would say too that the Capitals have played over their skis so far this season with the record they have and while that’s not entirely fair I do see the point.

They will have a chance to prove us wrong tonight against Colorado, but they are almost fully healthy now and I see the Avalanche having the edge. Colorado has won 5 of their last 7 games and they’ve done it by playing better defense allowing just 19 goals in the last 7 games which is a huge improvement over their earlier season play.

They did just lose to the Capitals as well so that’s fresh in their minds but now the forwards are healthy, and they are rolling. Logan Thompson on the Washington side in net doesn’t inspire much confidence in me either as he may be 8-0-1 on the season but his 2.63 GAA has been creeping up lately. Give me the Avs to win on the road tonight at a relative value considering Alex Ovechkin is out of the lineup.

Panthers vs. Blackhawks Prediction: Thursday, November 21st

Let me explain this game as simply as I can here, I don’t see a world in which this winds up being a close game in the slightest. I say that because the Panthers are rolling once again with 7 wins in the last 10 games, and they boast a 6-3-0 record on the road and are scoring 3.78 goals per game as well.

This team is just all around better than Chicago, a team that allows 3.29 goals per game on home ice and has covered just 8 of 19 games against the spread this season. There’s a huge goaltending mismatch as well with Petr Mrazek slated to start with his 3.02 GAA against Sergei Bobrovsky the future Hall of Famer!

Give me the Panthers to win in a big way tonight on the Puck Line which is a relative value considering the trends we have seen already this season.
