We have a three-game NHL slate tonight with a few big names in action, which should give us some solid props to consider.

We're seeing some decent scoring across the league right now, which is always encouraging not just from a viewing perspective, but from a prop standpoint.

NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/6

This past Sunday was the last best bets article I wrote, and we saw both Andrei Svechnikov and Leon Draisaitl cash their props.

Hopefully, we'll keep things rolling today and for the rest of the week.

Red Wings vs. Blackhawks Prediction: Wednesday, November 6th

Tonight, we have an exciting Original Six matchup between the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks. While the Blackhawks are still in the midst of a rebuild around up-and-coming star Connor Bedard, the Red Wings have higher goals with their eyes set on making the playoffs.

Right from the jump, I have to say that I'm impressed by the Red Wings' defense this season having allowed just 35 goals through 11 games, which is the eighth-fewest in the league. However, they're also one of the weakest offenses with only 29 goals scored, which is the second-fewest.

We also see both teams in the bottom 10 of the league for the fewest Total Shot Attempts created per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations and the fewest goals scored in the same situations.

This might be an exciting game from a storyline perspective, but the lack of offensive potential in this game is very clear and should lead to a lack of scoring overall.

Golden Knights vs. Oilers Prediction: Wednesday, November 6th

The BIG news for this game is Connor McDavid is BACK for the Edmonton Oilers! After missing just three games, the league's best player is back in action for the defending Western Conference Champs. They have a tough test tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights, which should give us the best game of the slate.

While the Oilers have been a bit up-and-down on offense this season, their defense has been consistently good. That sounds a bit weird to say when they have a negative goal differential but some of their underlying metrics are strong.

Through 13 games, the Oilers' defense is allowing 52.44 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the second-fewest in the league. They are super strong at preventing opposing teams from generating a ton of chances and that's actually awesome despite giving some goals here or there.

As for Vegas, they come in generating 53.75 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the fifth-lowest in the league. They might be scoring a ton of goals but they aren't taking a ton of shot attempts.

This brings me to Jack Eichel, who has been over this 3.5 mark in just four of his 12 games this season. Given this matchup, I'll side with Eichel under 3.5 shots on goal.
