Flyers vs. Sabres Predictions: Thursday, April 17th

When scanning through this slate for NHL best bets today, I knew no games had any kind of playoff implications, so I sought after the most entertaining game and this matchup between the Flyers and Sabres is just that game!

Each team has thrown caution to the wind over the final 10 games and have scored a bunch of goals. Over that stretch of 10 games the Sabres and Flyers are the 5th and 6th highest scoring teams in the NHL with 37 and 36 goals respectively.

Their young stars are out there getting experience and having fun in the process stacking up points and goals. On the flip side this means less than ideal defense and the Flyers especially have been guilty of this allowing 41 goals in 10 games.

The Sabres aren’t far away though allowing 36 goals of their own. All this of course makes me lean towards an over this evening in a game where each team will want to go out feeling good about the future.

The goaltending is bad too so don’t expect anyone to rob away this game in net, the over is the play of the day.
